Query 1. Whether the Master is bound to teach anything but the classics

2. Whether the Charity is open to New Malton as well as Old Malton or is confined to the resident inhabitants of Old Malton only.

1. I am of opinion that this foundation is strictly one of a Grammar School & that the Master is not bound to teach any but the board(?) languages enumerated in the foundation Deed.

2. I am of opinion that the Chantry(?) is locally confined to that district which was proven(?) by the description & appellation of Old Malton at the time of the … & that the Resident Inhabitants within such district are alone entitled to the benefits of it.
