Head Boys and Girls were appointed during most phases of the school. Sometimes they were called school captains. The posts appear to have died out in the 1980s and 90s. They were re-introduced in 2001, with two deputies, very much acting as a team of four. They were elected in May of Year 10, by their fellow Year 10 students and staff, on a transferable vote system.
