1837 A letter from
Archdeacon Todd
A letter from the Archdeacon of Cleveland, Henry Todd, to William Pound, Schoolmaster of Old Malton School. It is used as evidence of the Archbishop's support in the letter written by Pound to the Archbishop in 1847, defending moving the school to Norton.
1837 14 Nov
Archdeacon Todd to Rev W. Pound
The Revd William Pound
Old Malton
Dear Sir
I had great pleasure in submitting to the Archbishop your wish for the change of residence, when I saw him a few days since; & I intended waiting upon you to say that he entirely agreed to it, after the statement I made to him, had not very much business (thrice to York) within about a fortnight has prevented me.
Believe my Dear Sir,
Yours faithfully
H.J. Todd
Settrington, Novr 14
