A History of Malton Grammar School

The booklet David Lloyd produced in 1963 traced the history of the school back over 400 years. He acknowledges significant help from ‘two old Maltonians, Howard Fox, B.A. (1952-59) and Antony Kirby (1956-64), who had special responsibility for the periods 1941-50 and 1931-40 respectively.’ Mr Rolls and Mrs Taylor were also noted as helping. I must give credit to David Lloyd - he started his research in 1960, and produced the book by 1965, after he had left Malton to continue his career elsewhere.

The book was printed by Brewster Printing Company Limited, Corporation Street, Rochester and bound in a simple blue cardboard cover, the whole bound together with two staples. It has 78 pages, including 4 pages of black and white photographs - four of the headmasters 1911 - 1965, 3 of the school building, and two team photos (football 1925 and hockey 1912).

Its size is 255 x 165 mm.
