From 2002 Comic Relief alternated each year with Sport relief, engaing many top sports stars in fundraising. At the centre of Sport Relief day, usually a Friday in March, was a Sport Relief mile, to be done in any fashion desired. The first record I can find of a Sport Relief day at Malton School in in 2006, when a beautifully sunny day saw large numbers doing the mile and having a great time at lunchtime. In 2006 the event was held on 14 July; in more recent years it moved to March.
