The Maltonian Web Gallery - Yorkshire Dales Trip October 1998

When Y10 geography students went to East Barnby to do their coursework, a handful of non-geographers were left with an unrealistic couple of days of timetable. They were offered an alternative trip doing outdoor activities in the Yorkshire Dales. In 1998 Mr Fearnley, Mr Horsman, and former deputy head Davina Burn, took a group to the area around Malham staying at the Youth Hostel. A highly experienced guide, mountain rescuer and potholer, Dave Gallivan, organised most of the more extreme activities - caving, river scrambling, bridge building, orienteering, for example.
