Schools in and around Malton

Whilst Malton School is now the only secondary school in Malton, in the past there were others in the town, the most significant being Malton Senior School (Malton National School) until 1958. There was also a private school, St Michael's. And "across the river" there is of course Norton College, which had formally been Norton School, and further back Norton Boys and Norton Girls. I believe the Wesleyan School was the formal name for the school situated on Greengate until the late 1950s.

Various photographs of groups from these other schools have been loaned or donated over the years, many by John Stone, but also by Alf Williamson, Albert Kitchin, Dave Evans, Brian Botterill and Barbara Medd. Some have been "borrowed" from the Malton and Norton Memories Facebook page. There is a separate page for photos from Malton National School, and for Malton County Modern. Others I have are shared below.

There is another page of photos from 1900-1960 , and a third page of photos from 1960+ continues the collection.
